Why have I received a Notice?

A Party Wall Notice informs you that your neighbour is planning to carry out building works that may affect your property.

Do I have to reply?

Yes, you must reply to the Notice within 14 day of receiving it.

Can I appoint Hudson as my Surveyor?

Absolutely, we would happily assist to act on your behalf with the party wall matters. This is known as an ‘Agreed Surveyor’ and we’ll act impartially to protect both Parties.

Will I incur costs?

The Building Owners carrying out the proposed building works is responsible for Surveyors fees in normal circumstances. 

What do the Surveyors do?

Once Surveyors are appointed, they will agree on the content of the Party Wall Award. Once the Award is served the building works can commence, subject to notice periods.
